TV HOST - JOURNALIST - SPEAKER
Aarti Pole is a host with CBC News Network, reporting breaking stories across the country daily. She has been in this role with CBC since 2016. Prior to joining the News Network team in Toronto, she was the Washington Correspondent for Global National. As one of the first female Indo-Canadian television correspondents based out of the U.S. capital, she covered the 2016 U.S. presidential race, international news and politics.
Pole reported on the launch of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump's presidential campaigns, and traveled to cover primary races and political stories. She was in Orlando to cover the second-deadliest mass shooting in recent U.S. history and the nation's worst terror attack since 9/11, when a gunman killed 49 people in a nightclub. Aarti also covered Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s state visit with US President Barack Obama, the first visit for a Canadian leader in nearly 20 years.
Pole was previously a reporter with CBC News Toronto and The National, covering local stories, international news, and politics. She joined the Toronto team from B.C. where she worked at CBC Vancouver as an anchor and reporter, launching Vancouver's weekend TV newscast in 2011, and then CBC Radio's weekend newscasts in 2012.
